According to the Associated Press, on October 1st, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Iran, if involved in this matter, would suffer a ‘severe blow’. Trump issued this warning as investigators were working to determine the reasons behind the first officer’s stab wound to the captain.
On October 1st, reporters asked Trump at the White House whether Iran was involved in this attack. Trump replied, “Based on the information I have heard so far, the answer is yes. But we are still verifying it.”
He did not provide detailed reasons for his suspicion that Iran is involved in this matter.
When asked whether the United States would take revenge if Iran was behind the attack, Trump said, “They will receive a severe blow, don’t worry.”
