Three Indian Crew Members Killed in US Military Operations Near Iran

According to Reuters, Indian officials confirmed on the local time of the 11th that three Indian crew members died during a series of military operations carried out by the US military to block Iranian shipping.

Indian Minister of Ports, Shipping and Water Resources, Sarbananda Sonowar, said, "It is distressing that the remains of the three Indian crew members who were initially reported missing have been found, and their deaths have been confirmed."

According to Reuters, this is the first reported death incident since the U.S. military imposed a blockade on April 13.

The United States Central Command stated on the 10th that the U.S. military rendered a tanker incapacitated in the Gulf of Oman on the 9th due to the vessel violating the “blocking order”. The statement said that after the crew of the tanker “multiple times failed to comply with U.S. military instructions”, an U.S. military aircraft fired “precision-guided weapons” at the ship’s cabin.

Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack on 10th and stated that 21 Indian crew members have been rescued.
