According to Yonhap News, the South Korean theme park "Aibao Park" announced on the 30th that the schedule for the twins of giant pandas "Rui Bao" and "Hui Bao" to return to China has been determined. They will be sent to China during the third week of December.
It is reported that the specific date and location of the transfer will be determined after considering factors such as the health condition of the twin pandas, temperature conditions, and local circumstances.
According to international agreements, giant pandas born around the world must return to China when they reach the age of 4 and before entering the breeding period.
The 'Fubao', born on July 20, 2020, at Aibao Park, was also returned to the Wolong Shenshuping Base of the China Giant Panda Conservation Research Center on April 3, 2024.
To ensure that the twin giant pandas born in July 2023 return to their country at an appropriate time, Aibao Park has maintained close consultations with institutions such as the China Wildlife Protection Association and the China Giant Panda Conservation Research Center.
Like their sister “Fubao” back in the day, “Ruibao” and “Huibao” will undergo health checks and quarantines about a month before returning to their country.
The Aibao Paradise stated that they will make full preparations to ensure the safety of the two pandas upon their return to their home country. They also plan to organize a farewell event, where tourists can express their wishes for the pandas.
"Rui Bao" and "Huī Bao" were born on July 7, 2023. They are fraternal twin cubs of the Korean-bred giant pandas "Ai Bao" and "Le Bao". The two panda youngsters have each reached over 80 kilograms in weight and are currently thriving.
On July 7th this year, "Rui Bao" and "Hui Bao" celebrated their 3rd birthday.
On that day, Aibao Park held a birthday celebration. Panda keepers and invited visitors celebrated the birthdays of "Ruibao" and "Huibao". The keepers prepared a large bamboo birthday cake for them, and also made wooden benches as birthday gifts, allowing the two pandas to sit side by side.
