According to the Japanese newspaper "Mainichi Shimbun," on September 30 local time, two shooting incidents occurred in Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, resulting in one person killed and one injured.
The first shooting incident occurred at 1:15 PM local time on the 30th. The police received a call from a passerby reporting hearing gunshots in Kobe City's Chuo District. The Hyogo Prefectural Police stated that upon arrival at the scene, they found a man covered in blood lying on the ground. The man was taken to the hospital but died there. Preliminary investigations indicate that the man was shot with a pistol.
Another shooting incident occurred at 1:30 PM local time. A passerby reported to the police that a person was injured and lying on the road in Araitaya-machi, Hyogo City, Kobe Prefecture. The police stated that a man was shot in the abdomen, but he remained conscious and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
Currently, the Hyogo Prefectural Police are investigating these two shooting incidents. According to the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun, the police have arrested 79-year-old suspect Naoto Kameguchi. He confessed to being involved in the shooting incidents in Hyogo District and suggested that he was also involved in the earlier shooting incidents in Chuo District. Investigators said that Kameguchi was a member of a criminal organization, and the police are determining the connection between the two cases.
