According to a report by the Hong Kong 'South China Morning Post' on September 29th, JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon recently stated that the bank's business in China has experienced significant growth over the past decade. The scale of its operations, including the number of customers, is showing rapid growth.
He pointed out that this growth trend is expected to continue.
JPMorgan executives revealed that the group plans to expand recruitment and technology investment in mainland China and Hong Kong, further expanding its business.
Last week, during his visit to Hong Kong, Damon said in an interview with the newspaper: "We provide banking services to 300 to 400 Chinese companies, and this number has probably doubled over the past 10 years. In the next 10 years, this number could even double again."
When discussing Sino-US relations, Dimon stated that JPMorgan is committed to building bridges between the business communities of both countries.
"We are introducing Chinese enterprises and Chinese economy to the world." Damon added that Morgan Stanley has a role far beyond its local business in China, also helping domestic companies expand into international markets, "These works take place within their global market, where they're developing and investing."
Damon praised the development of Hong Kong and Hong Kong companies, believing that Hong Kong played a crucial role in connecting global investors and seeking financing companies. "They have done an excellent job; the city is driven by a group of smart and capable individuals who are able to act and adapt to changes.”
The report mentioned that in the first eight months of this year, Hong Kong’s Stock Exchange’s initial public offering (IPO) fundraising increased by 153% compared to the same period last year, reaching HK$342.4 billion (US$43.65 billion).
