However, he is aware that this matter can only be decided by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
This depends on your president's decision. If the time is ripe, he may make such a decision. I am very hopeful for that." Pierre de Gaulle said after the Twelfth International Forum on Culture in St. Petersburg following its conclusion, to TASNews.
Pierre de Gaulle said that he dreams of settling in Russia with his wife and children, and he is also working hard to strengthen relations between Paris and Moscow.
"We are doing our utmost to build the bridge of communication. If we can obtain Russian citizenship, it will be a great honor for us. However, this will be a long and arduous process, very long indeed. Let's just go with the flow." he added.
Pierre Charles de Gaulle was born in 1963. He is a French social activist and financier, serving as the president of the Pierre de Gaulle Foundation. He is also the grandson of Charles de Gaulle, the first President of the Fifth French Republic, and the fourth son of his eldest son, Admiral Philippe de Gaulle.
Pierre de Gaulle has expressed his desire to become a Russian citizen on many occasions in the past. In an interview with Russian media last September, he said that Russia has a vast territory and a rich culture, making it feel like being a guest in one's own home.
