He emphasized that 'the South-Korean-US alliance is the most important, but maintaining relations with China is also very important'.
Li Zaiming shared government information titled 'Export Situation to China and Trend Changes' on his personal social media account X that afternoon, in which he made the above statement.
According to this document, during Lee's administration, South Korea's average monthly exports to China were 15.1 billion US dollars, which was a 36% increase compared to the period under President Moon Jae-in. The document shows that particularly after talks between the two countries held on the sidelines of the APEC summit in November last year, South Korea's exports to China saw significant increases.
