On September 24, the Chinese Embassy in Japan held a reception at the New Otani Hotel in Tokyo to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. Attendees included former Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, Deputy House Speaker Koichi Ishii, President of the Japan-China Friendship Association Masayuki Moriyama, Chairman of the Communist Party of Japan Tomiko Tamura, Leader of the Constitutional Democratic Party Toshihide Mizoguchi, Leader of the Social Democratic Party Mari Sumeike, Leader of the Democratic Reform Association Junya Ogawa, and other political figures. Also present were representatives from friendly organizations such as the President of the Japan International Trade Promotion Association, Minoru Iwata, and the President of the Japan-China Association, Yoshihide Noda. Approximately 1,600 people attended, including ambassadors from over 110 countries, representatives of various Japanese organizations, Chinese communities in Japan, Chinese-funded enterprises, and international students.
In his speech, Chinese Ambassador to Japan Wu Jianghao reviewed the struggle led by the Communist Party of China over the past 105 years, as well as introduced the 15th Five-Year Plan and four major global initiatives. He stated that China will continue to share opportunities with countries around the world and jointly create prosperity, making greater contributions to the cause of human peace and development.
Wu Jianghao said that the current situation of Sino-Japanese relations is severe, with the root cause being the serious damage to the political foundation of bilateral relations. The four political documents between China and Japan are the original principles that both sides should adhere to, and they are also the fundamental guarantee for the stable and long-term development of Sino-Japanese relations. It is hoped that people of insight from both sides will play an active role in bringing Sino-Japanese relations back on track.
Japanese guests congratulated on the 77th anniversary of the founding of New China, stating that China's economic development and achievements in technological innovation are remarkable worldwide. They expressed their willingness to rekindle the original intention of normalizing diplomatic relations with China and make efforts to promote the improvement of Japan-China relations.
Visitors watched pictures and videos commemorating the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and China's efforts in global governance. The atmosphere at the event was warm and friendly.
