According to a report by the China Overseas Network quoting the Thai newspaper 'Siam Daily', the police in Chonburi Province, Thailand, carried out a raid on September 23. They successfully rescued three Chinese women who were tricked and subjected to illegal detention, sexual assault, and extortion. Four Chinese male suspects were also detained.
According to Napatasapong, the director of the Immigration Bureau of Chonburi Province, he received a request for help from a relative of a Chinese woman. The relative had sent a distress message via WeChat, indicating that the woman was being assaulted by several Chinese people and was in illegal detention. He asked the police to intervene and rescue her.
The woman said that her phone was not with her, and also warned, "Don’t send me any contact information or messages."
More than 20 law enforcement officers took joint action and surrounded a villa. They entered through the door and detained four men, finding three women. One of the women, wearing a sleepwear, had injuries all over her body and appeared extremely frightened.
Upon passport verification, it was confirmed that the three Chinese women involved are Liu (36 years old), Liu (32 years old), and Xing (23 years old). All three are Chinese citizens. The three women claimed that they were hired to provide entertainment services, but upon arrival at the scene of the incident, they were illegally detained and subjected to sexual assault. Subsequently, their relatives received demands for ransom.
The four suspects who were detained by the police are all Chinese citizens. Preliminary investigations show that none of the four had passports and they entered Thailand illegally through natural border crossings.
Currently, authorities are reviewing evidence and carrying out relevant legal procedures to identify all other persons involved in the case. In addition, thorough investigations are being conducted into allegations of illegal detention, sexual assault, and extortion.
