I am very pleased to have been invited by President Trump to conduct an official visit to the United States. On behalf of the Chinese people, I would like to extend my sincere greetings and best wishes to the American people.
Both China and the United States are great countries. The Chinese people and the American people are also great peoples. The people of China and the United States have had long-term friendly exchanges, and their interests are deeply intertwined. Both countries should be partners rather than rivals. Achieving the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and making America great again can coexist without conflict, complement each other, and benefit the world.
This year is a crucial year for the development of both China and the United States. When President Trump visited China in May this year, we agreed to establish constructive strategic stability relations between China and the United States, providing strategic guidance for the future development of Sino-US relations. Both China and the United States should work together to foster stable relations characterized by cooperation as the main focus, moderate competition, manageable differences, and a peaceful future. We should find a way for the two major powers in the new era to coexist in a proper manner. I have confidence in this.
The world is evolving, and times are changing. However, the historical logic of peaceful coexistence between China and the United States remains unchanged. The good will of the people of both countries to engage in friendly exchanges has not changed, nor has the general expectation of the international community towards China and the United States. I look forward to having in-depth discussions with President Trump on major issues related to the bilateral relations and the world situation. We should continuously enrich the content of our constructive strategic relations between China and the United States and expand the scope of exchanges and cooperation in various fields. I also hope to have extensive interactions with people from all walks of life in the United States, thereby fostering deep friendships. I believe that, with the joint efforts of both sides, this visit will surely yield fruitful results, bringing prosperity to the people of both countries and adding hope to world peace.
