According to a report by the Korean Central News Agency on September 24, North Korean Foreign Minister Choo Sang-hee said during her comments on the outcome of the meeting of foreign ministers from the United States, Japan, and South Korea that regardless of the positions taken by the United States and its allies, the North Korean government has no intention of giving up its nuclear weapons.
In a statement, she said that the unrealistic goal of 'denuclearization' pursued by the United States, Japan, and South Korea once again exposes their outdated and hostile attitude towards North Korea.
She mentioned that the foreign ministers of the United States, Japan, and South Korea issued a so-called “joint statement” during the tripartite talks held during the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, reaffirming their firm determination to achieve North Korea’s “denuclearization” based on UN Security Council resolutions. This action once again proves that no matter how the United States and its allies change their words or pose different fronts, they have never abandoned, nor will they abandon, the unachievable dream of “denuclearization”.
In this statement, Choi San-gi, as the North Korean Foreign Minister, reaffirms with the strongest words that North Korea's unwavering determination to possess nuclear weapons cannot be reversed under any circumstances or by any means.
