He also said that the United States has been carrying out ‘intermittent strikes’. Before the recent attack on Iran’s radar system, there had been several days without any combat between the two sides.
He added that the United States is controlling shipping in the Hormuz Strait and targeting Iranian military facilities.
Trump claimed that the United States has destroyed Iranian radars, aircraft, and other systems that provide protection for the Strait of Hormuz. Mine-clearing ships have removed the mines from the strait.
He claimed that the US blocked Iran's development of nuclear weapons and that Washington's intervention protected Israel and a broader Middle East region.
Trump said that it may soon be possible to target Iran’s “Gaoshan” region, and the United States has access to “all the movements of people in the Gaoshan area, as well as throughout Iran”.
When asked when this conflict will end, Trump said he couldn’t give a timeline, but argued that Washington has achieved its main goals. “We have achieved significant goals: (Iran) will not have nuclear weapons.”
He also said that even if the United States immediately withdraws its troops, "Iran still needs 25 years to rebuild their country".
"Gaoshan" is located near the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan Province, central Iran. It is considered one of Iran's most secure underground nuclear facilities. Previously, Trump threatened to attack Iran's "Gaoshan" nuclear facilities several times, but he has not carried out such attacks to this day.
According to Iranian media reports, the central headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced on July 22 that any attack by US forces against Iranian nuclear facilities or other sensitive facilities would be considered an expansion of the war in the region.
The statement says that in such a situation, “all interests of the United States, as well as those of its allies and supporters, will become targets of strong attacks by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
