White House Launches Arcade Games to Promote Anti-Immigration Policies

According to a report by CNN on September 3rd, the White House launched a series of arcade-style games on its official website that day, aiming to promote President Trump's anti-immigration policies.

These online games include interactive elements such as capturing people from the southern border and building border walls. In a game called “Rio Running,” players need to patrol along the Rio Grande River, “capture all those who cross the border,” in order to earn higher “deportation” scores.

The gameplay is similar to "Tetris". The player character is a white elderly man wearing a blue tie, while the "transgressor" character can be of different skin colors such as brown, black, or white. When the player captures an immigrant, the character immediately changes into an orange prison uniform and follows the player.

Another immigration-themed game called "Build The Wall" challenges players to stack bricks and defend their defenses against "border zombie attacks."

A White House official told CNN, “This move is intended to further highlight the stark contrast between the ‘culture of joy and victory’ and the ‘dark socialist vision’ that Democrats depict for America.”

Trump and his White House team have been criticized repeatedly for using radical and offensive content on social media and government official platforms. This includes the use of images with racial stereotypes, such as asking House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to wear a Mexican wide-brimmed hat, and portraying the Obamas as monkeys in the jungle.

Currently, some netizens are sharing their scores in the arcade game launched at the White House on the X platform. Others question whether this move by the government is counterproductive, given the ongoing conflict between Iran and the US and the high cost of living.

In November last year, CNN reported that the Trump administration adopted unconventional operational strategies for the White House website. An official said at the time, “The website serves both as a source of information and as a channel to convey our policies.” He also stated that they had successfully turned it into an “attack tool that other governments have never achieved.”
