According to Tass, on August 29 local time, Russian President's press secretary Peskov stated that there is no basis for improving relations between Russia and Europe at present, and the European side is mobilizing military resources to counter Russia.
Peсков said: "At this stage, I don't see any reason to expect improvements in our relations with Europe."
He said that European politicians have a confrontational stance towards Russia both verbally and in action. “They fully mobilize Europe’s military capabilities, aiming their weapons at our country, and directly participating in military operations against us.”
He added that Russia must recognize this fact. He also reiterated that Russia remains open to engaging in dialogue, “but we must be very clear about the kind of opponents we are dealing with.”
