They flew from Jilong, Tibet to Nepal via helicopter, arriving in the disaster area of Nepal at 16:58 Beijing time. They immediately joined the rescue efforts for the Nepalese hydropower station tunnel. Additionally, due to the needs of the rescue operation, another 4 Chinese tunnel experts were urgently sent to Nepal to fully support Nepal's efforts in tunnel rescue work.
At approximately 10:30 on August 26th, due to a mudslide disaster in Nepal, significant casualties and people going missing occurred at the Jilong Port in Jilong County, Shigatse City, Tibet.
According to Nepalese media reports such as the Kathmandu Post, some citizens from various countries remain missing in areas where flash floods have occurred. As a result, the Nepalese government has faced significant diplomatic pressure and has changed its decision not to seek help from international rescue teams.
According to the assessment by the Nepal National Disaster Management Center, the Nepalese government has given 'green lights' through the Interministerial Coordination Committee to India, China, Australia, and South Korea, allowing these countries to send experts and technical teams with experience in tunnel rescue, DNA analysis, and forensic testing.
As of the local time on the 28th, this massive flood disaster has resulted in over 550 deaths in Nepal, with another 977 people missing, including 517 foreigners from 31 countries.
According to the latest records from the Nepal Tourism Board, the largest number of missing persons are Indian citizens, totaling 178. Following that are Americans (65), Ukrainians (53), Australians (35), and Britons (33).
