According to Tass reporting on August 25th, Russian President's press secretary Dmitri Peskov reiterated at a press conference that the deployment of NATO military forces on Ukrainian territory is always unacceptable for Russia.
Regarding the so-called "willing alliance" plan to dispatch multi-national forces to Ukraine after a conflict, Peskov emphasized the seriousness of the issue, calling it "a very important and significant issue."
Peskov further stated that the discussion regarding NATO member states deploying military contingents in Ukraine is not a new topic, and the premise for such deployments is always "after the conflict ends."
But he also emphasized that the Russian side has consistently stated its position at multiple levels – the stationing of NATO troops in Ukraine is “completely unacceptable” to Moscow.
Previously, the joint chairman of the ‘Will Alliance’ issued a statement after meeting in Kyiv, confirming that NATO would deploy multi-national military forces in Ukraine once a reliable ceasefire was established. However, he did not disclose the specific size of the proposed task force.
