According to Indian media reports, on August 21st local time, a family tragedy occurred in Maharashtra state, India, due to iPhone installment payments. A family of three died after falling from a cliff.
According to the police, the teenager Kunaal had previously purchased an iPhone and arranged a payment plan, but was unable to repay it on time. He repeatedly asked his family for money.
Recently, after an intense argument with his father over the latest repayment issue, he left his home at around 10 a.m. and climbed a cliff, threatening to commit suicide. His parents rushed to the scene and spent nearly three hours persuading him to come down, along with local villagers, police, and firefighters.
Former village committee director Sangjai Jadav and others participated in persuading him. Some even promised to help him buy an iPhone 15 Pro. Firefighters tried to lay safety nets below, but they failed due to Kunar continuously moving along the cliff edge.
At around 1 p.m., after nearly three hours of confrontation, father Muraldar climbed to the cliff, trying to pull his son away from the edge. During this process, both lost their balance and fell into the valley below.
Mother Sangjit witnessed her husband and son fall, and immediately jumped off the cliff as well. All three died on the spot. The police have taken the bodies for autopsy and are investigating the case.
