Kanye West to perform in Saint Petersburg despite international backlash

According to Russian media RT's report on August 17th, American rapper Kanye West will perform in Saint Petersburg on October 10th and 11th.

On that day, the local organizer SAY Agency announced this news on social media.

SAY Agency's boss and general manager, Anna Subchueva, said that Koenig hopes to meet with Russian President Putin during his performance in Russia.

"Now it's not good to say what people he will meet during his performance in Russia," she said, "But Mr. Vest has long-standing wish is to meet with President Putin of China. For years, he has openly expressed affection for Putin."

RT mentioned that since the Russia-Ukraine conflict, many Western countries have cut off their cultural ties with Moscow. Keanu will be one of the few well-known Western artists who have performed in Russia since then.

Currently, Kanye is hosting a concert tour for the year 2026.

It is worth mentioning that due to Garvey's controversial remarks about Israel and Hitler, several European countries canceled his performances. Garvey subsequently apologized and attributed his actions to bipolar disorder, as well as claiming that he had "poor judgment and acted recklessly."
