US Condemns Israeli Strikes on Syrian Airbase

According to CNN, on the 18th local time, the United States expressed criticism regarding an Israeli air raid on an air force base in Syria.

On that day, U.S. Special Envoy on Syria, Tom Barrack, posted a message on the X platform, expressing the U.S.'s deep concern over the Israeli air strikes on the Abou Zuhur Air Base in Syria. He stated that such actions constitute an unnecessary escalation of tensions and do not contribute to regional stability.

Barak said that the Syrian transitional government has neither taken aggressive measures nor supported any 'proxy armed forces'. 'In fact, the Syrian transitional government has repeatedly indicated its preference for a calm situation with Israel.'

Barack said that the United States encourages all parties to prioritize rational dialogue rather than further military actions.

Reports say that Israel has not yet confirmed its attack on the Syrian airbase. The base is located near Idlib in northwestern Syria, and there are currently very few aircraft available at the base.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Syrian Transitional Government accused this attack of being 'a blatant violation of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and an escalating threat to regional security and stability.'
