Polish Tour Bus Crash Kills 12 in Hungary

According to European News TV's report on August 16th, a Polish tour bus had a traffic accident on a Hungarian highway early that morning, resulting in the death of 12 people. Currently, the injured have been sent to hospitals across Hungary for treatment, and the driver involved has been detained.

The accident occurred around 1 a.m. local time on the 16th, on the M3 highway in northeastern Hungary. The bus was carrying 57 passengers and was returning from Serbia to Poland. Hungarian authorities reported that the bus deviated from the road while driving, causing it to crash into a ditch along the road. As a result, 11 people died on the scene, and another person died after being taken to the hospital.

Hungary's medical department said that 37 people were injured in the accident and they have been sent to hospitals in four cities for treatment. The police said that the driver who caused the accident fell asleep while driving and has been detained.

Hungary Prime Minister Mátyás Marcs posted a message on social media, expressing condolences to the families of the victims and thanking all those who participated in the rescue efforts. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced that the Polish government has dispatched special aircraft to transport medical and consular aid.
