According to reports from South Korean KBS TV, a latest survey shows that the number of people opposing President Lee Jae-myung has exceeded the number of those supporting him for the first time since he took office.
A survey conducted by Gallup Korea from the 11th to the 13th of this month among 1,000 people aged 18 and above in South Korea showed that 44% of respondents gave positive evaluations to Lee Jae-myung's governance. This represents a 7 percentage point decrease compared to the results announced last time (on July 24th).
While 46% of respondents believed that Lee Jae-min’s performance was poor. This is the first time in Gallup polls since Lee Jae-myung took office in June 2025 that negative evaluations have surpassed positive ones.
Positive evaluations were given primarily due to "diplomatic reasons" (19%), followed by "economic and people's livelihood issues" (15%), "generally good performance" (8%) and "communication" (7%). Negative evaluations were attributed to factors such as "real estate policies" (30%), "economic, people's livelihood, high exchange rates" (13%), and "poor overall performance" (7%).
