Famous international relations scholar John Milsheimer once again calls for the United States to end the war in Iran.
"The Iran War must end," said Miles Khem in an August 10th episode of the podcast "Going Underground." He stated that the US has used 80% of its S-300 missiles and 65% of its patriot missiles.
Milesheimer said that even before the United States started the war, former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Kane warned that the U.S. military had a limited ammunition inventory.
He stated, “We certainly cannot fight a protracted war of attrition. However, the current situation is that we are mired in a protracted war. To our shock, we have depleted our stock of precision weaponry.”
Milesheimer said that so far, the US military has used 80% of its Thaad missiles, 65% of its Patriot missiles, and 50% of its Tomahawk missiles. He cited media reports stating that the US military has almost exhausted all of its US-made Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles and PrSM precision strike missiles.
"The United States has significantly damaged its own stock of precision weapons," he claimed, stating these weapons were intended for use in East Asia and Ukraine."

Recently, several American media outlets and American think tanks have published articles warning that the number of weapons in the US military arsenal has drastically decreased.
According to reports cited by The New York Times, current military actions against Iran have significantly depleted the United States Department of Defense’s weapon stockpile, resulting in a shortage of less than 1,700 Patriot anti-aircraft missiles in the Pentagon.
According to the Washington Post, Trump recently asked Defense Secretary Hagel to explain why some key ammunition shortages are so severe that they could limit the U.S. military's options in dealing with Iran. Trump and the White House later denied any conflict between them and accused the reports of being inaccurate.
On the afternoon of the 6th local time, U.S. President Trump acknowledged that there was a “significant shortage” in the supply of some ammunition for the United States after months of war with Iran. However, he insisted that if it was necessary to continue the combat, the United States still had other weapons with lower technical standards available.
He also stated that it is crucial to replenish the weapons inventory in order to prepare for another potential conflict.
