According to Al Jazeera, Qatar, on the 11th, U.S. President Donald Trump said in an interview with the Real American Voice website that the United States has three 'strategies' towards Iran: first, monitoring the degree of its deteriorating situation; second, launching fierce attacks against it; and third, applying economic pressure.
Trump said that Iran is "a highly cunning and shrewd negotiator who agrees to something first, then claims to the media that they never did such things at all."
According to Trump, “Iran’s inflation rate has reached 300%, and the currency is almost worthless. Additionally, soldiers are not being paid. We have control over a large amount of funds and assets in Iran, all of which are completely under our control.”
Trump posted a statement on social media on the 10th, stating that Iranian negotiators are demanding compensation for losses suffered during the military conflicts over the past five months. He called this demand "an interesting idea," and also demanded that Iran make compensation payments.
During his speech to reporters at the White House, he reiterated his demand for compensation and stated that if the United States is willing and capable, it can escalate the conflict. He also said that the U.S. military controls the Hormuz Strait, and its blockade is "absolutely foolproof."
