According to Yonhap, on May 27th, Park Ryun-juk, the first-level official (vice-minister) of the South Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs, held a press conference to announce the results of the investigation into the attack on the South Korean cargo ship NAMU in the Strait of Hormuz.

The investigation results show that the NAMU was attacked by two aircraft. One of the aircrafts warheads was not detonated, while the other aircrafts warhead exploded normally. The undetonated warhead was found to be equipped with high-energy explosives.
According to the investigation, it was also found that the shape of the warheads resembles that of Irans Nour series anti-ship missiles, or their improved version, the Qadr. The components bear markings indicating the Iranian manufacturer. The engines are similar to those produced in Iran.
According to the analysis conducted by the Korean National Defense Science and Technology Research Institute, the engine shares characteristics similar to those of Irans Toloue 4 engine. Fragments with a light blue color were found in the remains of the weapon, which correspond to the color of the Nour series missiles.
The investigation failed to determine the source of the attack. According to the South Korean Ministry of National Defense, given that the NAMU was located in waters 90 to 100 kilometers away from Iranian land at the time of the incident, it is likely that the weapon flew for about 6 to 7 minutes.
