Bloomberg reported on August 11 that Pakistani Defense Minister Ashfaq said that the United States and Iran are close to reaching a “some kind of arrangement”. He added that lasting peace is in the interests of the region.
"The situation is once again moving towards a direction that favors the achievement of peace arrangements or agreements," said Asaf, on Tuesday in Islamabad after an interview with Bloomberg. "The signals released over the past two days indicate we are nearing some kind of agreement."

According to reports, Pakistan’s Interior Minister Makhsin Nekhev arrived in Iran’s capital Tehran on the 11th. He will hold talks with Iranian officials. Since the start of this round of US-Iran conflicts, Pakistan has been trying to mediate between the two countries.
