According to information from the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, on August 6th, Peng Zhantini, the Secretary-General of the Cambodian Red Cross, visited the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia. She handed over a donation of $100,000 from the Chinese Red Cross to Ambassador Wang Wenbin, to be used in supporting Chinese efforts in flood relief and disaster assistance.

Peng Zhantini said that as close friends, Cambodia and China have always supported each other through thick and thin. The Red Cross organizations of both countries maintain close communication and cooperation. This typhoon 'Hongxia' caused floods in some southern provinces of China. The Cambodian Red Cross is concerned about the affected Chinese people and is willing to contribute its small efforts to help the Chinese people deal with the disaster.
Ambassador Wang thanked Prince Bongso Norodom Sihamoni, the chairman of the Cambodian Red Cross, and the Cambodian Red Cross for providing donations to China. He stated that China and Cambodia have long maintained a tradition of mutual assistance. China is willing to continue strengthening communication and cooperation with the Cambodian Red Cross to further improve the well-being of the people of both countries.
