According to Japan's Kyodo News, the latest work by the late Japanese writer Hayakawa Tōno, "Eternal Memories," was released on August 5. The new Tokyo-to Shinjuku district branch of the Kiyohata bookstore held a countdown ceremony at 0:00 sharp to coincide with the release, and attendees received advance reservations for the new book.
This release is the latest novel in the renowned series by Kyoko Motoyoshi, "Detective Galileo."
The "Galileo" series, with a cumulative circulation of over 16.6 million copies, is a detective novel about the genius physicist Yukio Toyonaka's investigation into incredible phenomena. The first full-length work in this series, "The Suspect X's Devotion," won the Naoki Award. The film adaptation of this work, starring Masahide Fukunaga, was also a huge success.
This is the eleventh installment in the series as a single volume, entitled "The Final Riddle."
Toei Keigo was born in Osaka Prefecture in 1958 and graduated from the Department of Electrical Engineering at Osaka Prefectural University. After graduation, he worked as an engineer in a manufacturing company while also starting his writing career. In 1985, he won the Edo Haibu Award with his novel "After School," marking the beginning of his career as a writer. The first short story in the "Galileo" series was published in a magazine in 1996.
East Night Hideyoshi died on July 23rd at approximately 01:00 AM from colon cancer, aged 68.
