China Tightens Drone Export Control to US

On August 5, the Ministry of Commerce issued an announcement. In accordance with relevant laws and regulations such as the "Export Control Law of the People's Republic of China" and the "Regulations on the Export Control of Dual-Use Goods of the People's Republic of China," to safeguard national security and interests and to fulfill international obligations related to anti-proliferation, it has been decided to strengthen the export control of dual-use items related to drones to the United States. The relevant matters are announced as follows:

For unmanned aerial vehicles and their key components, as well as related technologies that are listed in the "Export Control List of Dual-use Items of the People's Republic of China," strict review will be conducted for each case when exporting to the United States. Authorization-based facilitation measures will not apply.

This announcement shall take effect from the date of its announcement.
