According to CNBC, as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to escalate, the U.S. embassies in several Middle Eastern countries issued safety warnings on August 1 local time, advising American citizens living in those regions to be cautious and to prepare for unexpected situations such as flight cancellations.
The United States embassies in Iraq, Jordan, and the UAE have respectively reminded American citizens to consider leaving their countries immediately or preparing for evacuation in advance, in order to prevent further escalation of regional conflicts. The US side also noted that tensions may affect local air traffic, and relevant individuals should pay close attention to flight schedules and the latest safety information issued by the embassies.
A senior government official from a Gulf country and a foreign diplomat stationed there said that given the potential for increased military actions in the coming days, the Gulf region is currently in a “high alert” state. It is expected that transportation, aviation, and other public services will be severely affected. Both individuals requested to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the matter.
