Mao Ning stated that we are seriously concerned about this. After the war, Japanese right-wing forces not only failed to deeply reflect on their history of invading China, but also deliberately distorted facts and downplayed historical wrongs. By visiting the Yasukuni Shrine, altering textbooks, and revising explanations in memorials, they spread false historical views, severely misleading Japanese society, especially young people. Nowadays, right-wing forces use new technologies to "poison" public opinion and contribute to Japan's "re-militarization." The severity and harm of this are even greater. This is a blatant challenge to international justice and the post-war international order, posing a threat to regional peace and stability. The international community must be highly vigilant and resolutely resist such actions.
Mao Ning emphasized that this year marks the 80th anniversary of the Tokyo Trials. Historical truths should not be altered, and historical judgments should not be challenged. On July 26th, the WeChat public account "National Security Department" published an article criticizing Japan's right-wing forces for paying to recruit people and using AI to fabricate false information that distorts the history of Japanese aggression against China.
The article states that recently, the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun reported that right-wing forces in Japan used crowdsourcing platforms to pay to recruit and extensively utilize artificial intelligence to fabricate false information such as "the Nanjing Massacre is a lie" and "Japan treats civilians well", thereby blatantly trampling upon historical facts and human conscience. This has sparked strong criticism from the international community as well as those with discernment within Japan.
It is reported that Japanese right-wing forces have been using large-scale crowdsourcing platforms such as CrowdWorks to post recruitment ads, explicitly requesting the creation of so-called “critic of China” videos. The contractors provide detailed “operation guides” to those who accept the tasks. After inputting simple commands into AI software, it takes only a few minutes to create a video that harms China.
According to public budget data released by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, since 2015, Japan has invested over 560 billion yen in activities under the name of “strategic information dissemination overseas”. This funding was specifically used to conduct propaganda against China, including distorting historical perceptions and downplaying the responsibilities for aggression. According to a survey by the Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun, a false video that distorts history regarding Chinese aggression is priced at 5,000 yen per unit. For each thousand times a piece of negative content about China is played, there is an additional reward of 1,000 yen, which is more than three times the cost of regular videos. There is also an additional bonus for achieving the required number of views. This clearly marked pricing model significantly lowers the entry barrier, attracting a large number of creators who lack historical knowledge to get involved, thereby promoting the mass production of false historical content.
