Recently, wildfires have been continuing to spread across France and Spain.
According to reports from Reuters and The Daily Telegraph, French President Emmanuel Macron visited the affected areas in Gironde Province in the southwestern part of France on the evening of the 27th. He stated, 'The situation we are facing today is the most severe in recorded history, and also the most severe since World War II.'
"We must be realistic: the coming weeks will be difficult, and we must persevere. The key lies in urgency and resilience," said Macron.
It is reported that a new round of heatwaves, potentially reaching up to 40 degrees Celsius, is expected to hit France within the next 24 hours.
On the same day, Spain's Prime Minister Sánchez inspected the province of Castellón in eastern Spain, which is currently suffering from wildfires. He stated that these wildfires are not 'a series of isolated incidents,' but 'the most painful manifestation of a climate crisis.'
Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grand-Mallasak-Gomes warned on the 27th that “the next two days are crucial for controlling the fire,” as “weather conditions are very unfavorable for firefighting efforts, according to forecasts.”
