According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, Slovak President Peteregnyi will make a state visit to China from July 27th to 29th.

Peter Pellegrini, born in Banská-Bystrica, Slovakia in October 1975, holds a master's degree in economics. He was elected president of Slovakia in April 2024.

On July 24th, Lin Jian, a spokesman for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, introduced the arrangements regarding Peréglini's visit at a regular press conference.

Lin Jian said that Slovakia is one of the first countries to recognize and establish diplomatic relations with New China, and it is an important partner of China in Europe. During the visit, President Xi Jinping will hold talks with President Pelegrini to jointly plan the future development of China-Slovakia relations and to exchange in-depth views on bilateral relations and international and regional issues of common concern.

Lin Jian pointed out that China is willing to work with Sweden, taking this visit as an opportunity to continuously deepen traditional friendship and political mutual trust, strengthen the development of strategic cooperation, and expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields.
