On July 25th, local time, renowned American singer Katy Perry (known as "The Fox") posted on the social media platform X: "I am extremely shocked and angry to see that the TikTok account of the White House (@WhiteHouse) used the song 'Firework' as background music for videos featuring military attacks. I have never approved of this, have not been consulted on this matter, and absolutely do not agree with such practices."
She also wrote, “The original intention of creating this song was to bring hope, healing, and inner strength to those who are facing the darkest moments of life. It’s completely contrary to my original purpose and spirit when I saw that this song, which conveys self-worth and inspiration, was used as music for destruction and violent acts. My music is meant to unite people, not to glorify war.”
Previously, a video posted on the White House TikTok account featured words like “Iran has been warned,” showing images of military attacks. The video also included the classic hit single “Firework” by “Fruit Girl.” This song is one of the nine songs that have topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
It is worth mentioning that “Fruit Sister” has always openly expressed her pro-Democratic stance. She supported Biden in the 2020 U.S. presidential elections and is also in favor of former U.S. Vice President Harris running in the 2024 presidential elections. Currently, she is associated with former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau.
