According to British Reuters, on July 21 local time, the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it had summoned the Russian chargé d'affaires in India, Vladimir Radanov, to express 'serious concern' over the attack against the merchant ship 'Golden Lion' during its voyage along the Black Sea, which resulted in the death of four Indian crew members.
The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that such attacks are 'unacceptable' and undermine the security and stability of international maritime trade. India has requested Radanov to convey India's strong concerns.
The previous day, the Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that a merchant ship named 'Golden Lion' was attacked as it left the port of Odesa in southern Ukraine on the evening of the 19th. Four Indian crew members were killed, and one Indian crew member suffered serious injuries and is currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
Ukraine said that the attack resulted in the death of 10 people.
On the 21st, Russian President’s press secretary Peskov responded to this matter by saying that Russia is continuing to communicate with India and clarifying its position to them. Peskov said that the Russian military is and will continue to strike ships that transport ammunition, weapons, and other supplies to Ukraine.
