On July 19 local time, the United States Central Command posted a statement on social media, stating that on the 18th, two American soldiers were killed in an attack by Iran in Jordan, and another soldier is missing. After thorough search efforts, the US military discovered unidentified remains at the scene earlier on July 19. Currently, identification and verification procedures are underway.
Additionally, the U.S. Central Command stated that on the 18th, a U.S. military personnel was killed while serving in northern Iraq. The death occurred when an Iranian unguided attack drone was shot down, and unexploded ammunition from the drone was controlled detonated. Another U.S. military personnel was injured and is currently receiving treatment for minor injuries.
The United States Central Command stated that, out of respect for the families, they will not disclose more information, including the identities of those who are missing and those who have died.
