The United States Central Command issued a statement on social media platform X on July 18th local time, stating that under the directive of U.S. President Trump, the Central Command carried out another airstrike against Iran at 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time on July 18th.
During the eighth consecutive night of air strikes by US forces, units under the Central Command successfully targeted Iran's coastal surveillance and anti-aircraft facilities, maritime combat capabilities, as well as missile and drone storage sites, thereby continuously weakening Iran's military strength. The US forces also struck Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard units that were attacked by US forces in Jordan on July 17th.
The US military has released screenshots of the latest video footage showing its actions against Iran.
The statement also stated that more than 50,000 American military men and women are serving in various locations in the Middle East. They remain highly vigilant, focused, lethal, and ready at any moment.
Earlier that day, the US Central Command announced that two US military personnel were killed by Iranian ballistic missiles and drones in Jordan on the 17th. One US military personnel is missing, and four others have been taken to hospitals for treatment. This brings the total number of US military deaths to 16 since the large-scale military operations launched by the United States and Israel against Iran at the end of February. More than 400 people have also been injured.
