According to Japanese media reports, on the afternoon of July 16 local time, a train collision with a car occurred at a railway crossing on the JR Furano line in Furano-machi, Hokkaido, Japan. Five Chinese tourists in the car were injured and taken to the hospital, but all are out of danger. No train passengers or staff were injured. The Japanese police are investigating the cause of the accident.

According to the Urban Express report, on the 17th, the identities of the Chinese tourists were confirmed. There were 2 men and 3 women, forming a family of four and one friend. Their ages ranged from over 10 years old to over 50 years old. One of the individuals was a police officer from the East Kowloon Traffic Department in Hong Kong.
After receiving the request for assistance, the Chinese Consulate General in Sapporo and other relevant departments promptly understood the situation and provided appropriate advice and feasible assistance in accordance with the wishes of the victim and his family. Currently, the Hong Kong police officer is assisting the Japanese police in investigating the accident. It is expected that he will return to Hong Kong after the investigation is completed next week.
