Irans Parliament Condemns US Over Memorandum of Understanding Termination

According to Iranian media such as the Tehran Times, 180 members of the Iranian Islamic Parliament issued a joint statement on July 14, condemning the United States for its betrayal of promises, and calling on the Iranian government to terminate the memorandum of understanding previously reached with the United States.

The statement says that U.S. President Trump has declared the memorandum of understanding invalid, which once again proves that issues between Iran and the United States cannot be resolved through negotiations.

These members called for the Iranian government to take a firm stance and strengthen its defensive capabilities, particularly regarding the security and management of the Strait of Hormuz. The statement also demanded the establishment of a special committee to review the relevant negotiations and the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States.

The statement emphasizes that it is necessary to “avenge” the late Supreme Leader of Iran, Khamenei.

Iranian Islamic Parliament's Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy member Rezaie stated on social media on the 14th that the enemy has officially entered a state of war, violating all the provisions of the Iran-U.S understanding memorandum. Therefore, this memorandum is now invalid.
