Spain Clinches World Cup Semi-Final Spot

In the first semi-final of the MLS-CAN World Cup held on July 14 local time, the Spanish team defeated France 2-0. This marked the second time in team history that they have reached the World Cup finals, following their performance at the 2010 South Africa World Cup.

After the French team was eliminated, Macron posted on social media to congratulate the Spanish team on their advancement, while also expressing gratitude to the French team for their dedicated efforts in representing their country. "The loss tonight is indeed sad, but this team is young and full of promise," wrote Macron.

It is worth mentioning that this match coincided with France's National Day – Bastille Day. Both Macron and Spanish Prime Minister Sánchez were present in Paris for related celebrations on that day, hence they missed this match.
