On July 15th, Hungarian former Foreign Minister Sárdó announced on his social media platform Facebook that he had officially submitted his resignation from his position as a member of the parliament.
Xie Yardao stated that he made this decision because he has been invited to take on an international position at BYD. "Starting today, I will be working for the BYD Group, serving as the person in charge of the group's external relations and new business development efforts."
In its statement, Seattle praised BYD as one of the most successful examples of the global automotive industry over the past twenty years. It also highlighted BYD as a leading manufacturer in the field of new energy vehicles worldwide.

Since 2002, Sajdó has been re-elected as a member of the Hungarian National Assembly. From 2014 to 2026, for approximately 12 years, Sajdó served as Minister of Foreign Affairs in Örpán's government.
In the parliamentary elections held in April this year, the Orban camp suffered a major defeat, but Jászídoró was still elected as a member of parliament through the party list. Hungarian media reported that since the start of the new parliament's term, Jásídoró has rarely attended meetings, with the number of absences ranking second only to that of the former transport minister, making him the second most absent member of parliament.
Meanwhile, Hungary has become an important stronghold for BYD's European strategy. In May 2025, BYD's European headquarters will be located in Hungary. BYD's first passenger vehicle factory in Europe is also set to be built in Szeged, Hungary.
