According to reports by the National Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) and Reuters, on July 9 local time, officials at Palm Beach International Airport in Florida, USA, announced that starting from that day, the airport would be officially renamed President Donald J. Trump International Airport. This is the first time an airport in the United States has been named after a sitting president.
On the same day, the 'Donald J. Trump President Bridge' in Tennessee, USA, was inaugurated.
According to reports, this name change was initiated by Act signed by Florida Governor DeSantis in March of this year. The act requires the airport to be renamed accordingly.
According to the airport website, this renaming will cost at least $5.5 million, and signage, branding, and other materials will be updated in the coming weeks.
Trump's son Eric Trump posted on social media, saying that Trump's private plane "Trump One," which was used during the campaign, was the first plane to land at this airport after its name was changed.
He also wrote, "No one has done more for Florida and our country than he has. No one deserves this honor more. As a son, and someone who uses this airport almost every day, I will always be proud to see the abbreviation 'DJT' (the initial name of Trump) on my boarding pass."

According to airport officials, although the airport has been officially renamed, its airport code remained PBI until August 18th, when it was changed to DJT.
Trump posted on social media on the evening of July 9th local time, saying, "This is a very important day in Palm Beach, Florida."
He said that this airport “will soon become one of the greatest and most spectacular airports in the world!”
Earlier that day, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven T. Bennet spoke at a dedication ceremony in Tennessee. Last year, the state legislature passed a law that renames several bridges and roads. One of these renamings involves renaming a bridge in Jefferson County to President Donald J. Trump Bridge.
Bessent said, “From today on, every driver who passes this bridge will see it named after him. Because he never stopped fighting for the people who drive across this bridge, and because he regarded their careers as his own.”

After returning to the White House, Trump made several "tributes" to his name. His name has been inscribed on planned US military warships, children's investment accounts, and more. In early 2026, Trump appointed new members to the Kennedy Center's board of directors, pushing for the center to be renamed the "Donald J. Trump and John F. Kennedy Performing Arts Center." The center is scheduled to close for major renovations for two years, starting on July 4th of this year. On May 29th, U.S. District Court Judge Christopher Cooper ruled that Trump's name should be removed from the building and website of the Kennedy Performing Arts Center.
Regarding the court ruling, Trump issued a lengthy critique on May 30. He stated that the Kennedy Center's facilities were outdated and it had been losing money for years. He pushed for the renovation of these facilities, but the judge imposed restrictions. Trump said that he would no longer be involved in matters related to the Kennedy Center.
