Trump Claims US-Iran Understanding Over, Attacks Iran After Sanctions

According to Reuters report on July 8th, U.S. President Trump, who is attending the NATO summit in Ankara, stated that he believes the US-Iran understanding memorandum has 'ended'.

This was stated by Trump when answering reporters' questions during his meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. Trump said, "I no longer want to deal with them." He also attacked Iran as being "scum" and "sick people."

Previously, the United States imposed a new round of sanctions on Iran on the grounds that Iran had attacked ships in the Strait of Hormuz, and revoked the permission for Iran to sell crude oil to global markets.

On Wednesday, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran announced that its naval and aerospace forces carried out joint missile and drone operations, targeting 85 important U.S. military facilities located in Salman Port, the Bahrain headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet, and the Ali Suleimang Air Base in Kuwait.
