Dutch Police Officer Pulled Pregnant Woman to Ground During Shelter Dispute

According to foreign media reports, videos circulating on social media recently show that in Zeest, Utrecht Province, Netherlands, a police officer pulled a pregnant woman to the ground. Subsequently, a man rushed forward and attacked the police officer.

According to local police reports, on Tuesday, May 19th, police received a report stating that someone had damaged property and threatened others at Zests shelter. Police immediately responded to the scene. A 30-year-old local man was arrested but has since been released.

According to video footage circulating online, a police officer grabbed a pregnant womans arm and pulled her to the ground. Subsequently, a man stepped forward and attacked the police officer.

The police stated that these videos only show parts of the incident, and therefore cannot fully reflect the conversations that took place at that time, nor the entire sequence of events.

The police have already obtained several relevant videos and are currently conducting a comprehensive investigation into the causes, process of the incident, and the actions taken by all parties involved.

Police spokesman stated that the situation at the scene was complex and changed rapidly. The police took appropriate actions to protect the people on the scene and their own safety. We will carefully review all the facts and circumstances, and assess whether the use of force was appropriate.
