Hamas Disbands Gaza Emergency Committee, Transfers Authority to National Council

According to AFP reports dated July 6 local time, the Palestinian government media office in the Gaza Strip, which is controlled by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), announced the dissolution of the emergency committee operated by Hamas in the Gaza Strip, in preparation for transferring the administrative authority of the Gaza Strip to the National Administrative Council of Gaza (NCAG).

According to reports, this emergency committee, which was dissolved before, was the institution responsible for managing the Gaza Strip for nearly 20 years. This move paved the way for a committee composed of technocrats to take over civil governance.
