On July 6, the Chinese Embassy in Iran announced that it would resume all consular services starting from July 8, 2026. To expedite the processing of visa applications that had accumulated during the war, the embassy will be open throughout the day from Wednesday, July 8, to Friday, July 10, for visa applications. The reception hours are as follows:

Starting from Sunday, July 12th, work hours and business arrangements will return to normal. Visa processing times are on Sundays and Tuesdays in the morning, all day on Mondays and Wednesdays. Certification processing is scheduled for Thursday in the morning, and issuance of certificates takes place on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the afternoon.
Notes:
1. The Chinese Embassy in Iran will change the online visa application website for visits to China to http://consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/ on July 8th. Please visit this website and fill out the application online. For the visa application city, please select Tehran. Starting from today, the original Chinese visa application system (http://cova.cs.mfa.gov.cn) will no longer be in use. The requirements and procedures for visa application materials remain unchanged.
II. The space in our visa processing hall is limited, and there were many applicants in the initial period of service restoration. To facilitate Iranian citizens in obtaining visas to China, our hall will also open four windows for visa processing. Windows No. 3 and No. 4 are for travel agencies, while Windows No. 1 and No. 2 handle individual applications, with processing done in the order in which they are called. All eligible applicants will receive visas within the specified time frame. Please submit your application two weeks in advance, taking into account your plan to visit China. To ensure the safety of applicants, please do not queue outside our hall at night.
III. The normal visa processing takes 4 working days. Please come to the embassy on the date indicated on the receipt form to collect your documents. There may be delays in the processing time for some visa applications, and the embassy will contact the applicants regarding this. Currently, no urgent or special-priority applications are accepted.
IV. Our institution has never granted any institutions or individuals the privilege of having priority in processing documents. We have not established any cooperative relationships with any visa agency, nor have we designated any such agencies as official authorized agencies. If it is discovered that any institution or individual demands bribes from applicants under the guise of “priority processing,” please report this to our institution immediately. Our institution will contact the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and security forces to handle the matter seriously.
