Iranian Security Forces Disrupt Terrorist Plots in Sistan-Baluchistan Province

According to reports by the Iranian Fars News Agency on July 4th, the Iranian intelligence department issued a statement indicating that the Iranian security forces have recently destroyed bases of 'terrorist and extremist organizations' that are associated with American and Israeli intelligence agencies.

The statement said that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran and the Iranian law enforcement authorities carried out joint operations in several regions of Sistan-Baluchistan Province. A total of 10 members of the operation team were arrested, and two armed individuals were killed. One of the five-member operation teams was suspected of being involved in attacks against Iranian military units and judicial institutions. The relevant persons have been handed over to the provincial judicial authorities.

During the search, the Iranian security authorities seized a large number of guns, ammunition, explosives, four radio communication devices, and a set of “Starlink” satellite communication equipment.

The Iranian Intelligence Department states that these armed individuals joined 'terrorist and extremist organizations' based in neighboring countries. They received military and explosives training overseas and planned to carry out sabotage, assassination, and terrorist activities in the southeastern region of Iran. However, they were captured by Iranian security forces before they could take action, and the related organization networks have been dismantled.
