"The next few years, what plans will be made to promote cooperation and friendship between India and China?"
According to a report by Phoenix TV on July 5th, India's new ambassador to China, Vikram Drswami, responded by saying, "My idea is to cooperate as much as possible with our Chinese friends, the government, the media, as well as those in the business and public arts fields. We can do many things together. We welcome more friendship between us. The wider the relationship, the stronger it will be."
Wei Jia Meng also stated during an event in Beijing on July 4 that she hopes to increase India's exports to China, especially in 'industries such as pharmaceuticals where India has global competitiveness'.
"Obviously, we hope to export more goods to China. There's no unreasonable reason behind this suggestion,” he said at the World Peace Forum held in Beijing, "particularly in areas where we hold competitive advantage, such as the pharmaceutical industry. We are one of the primary countries exporting pharmaceuticals to developed nations worldwide."
"We hope that our Chinese partners will work with us to ensure that high-quality generic drugs produced in India, which are exported to the United States and other countries, can enter the Chinese market. We believe this is beneficial for both parties. It can bring value to China, and certainly add value to bilateral relations." he added.
Wei Jiameng pointed out that despite the fluctuating political relations between the two countries, trade volumes have still increased. Indian exports to China have also seen growth recently. 'This means there are opportunities in the Chinese market. We need to find ways to make these opportunities more achievable,' he said.
