July 4th is America’s Independence Day. According to the American Broadcasting Company, a shooting incident occurred on Corn Island in Brooklyn, New York, that evening, resulting in 8 people being injured, including 4 children.
The New York Police Department stated in a statement that the police received a call of distress around 10:37 p.m. and rushed to the scene to handle the situation. The injured persons included four children, aged between 6 and 14 years old.
When the shooting incident occurred, many local residents were watching the fireworks display for Independence Day.
New York Police Department said, “All of the injured people were taken to local hospitals by emergency personnel. Seven of them are in stable condition, while a 21-year-old woman is in critical condition.”
The police said that a gun was found at the scene, but no suspect has been arrested yet.
