Anwar Calls for Greater Global Representation in Decision-Making

According to a report by the Malaysia Kini on July 2, Malaysian Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anwar stated at the 39th Asia-Pacific Roundtable that global governance should reflect contemporary realities. Developing countries should have a greater representation in decision-making, and the perspectives of Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific region should be given more weight.

He said that in the face of increasingly growing global uncertainty, multiple challenges such as climate change, epidemics, food security, and cyber threats intersect, and no country can alone confront these challenges.

He emphasized that Malaysia should strengthen existing partnerships and establish new cooperative relationships. In a global environment that is volatile and ever-changing, diversification is no longer just an economic strategy, but a necessary choice for a nation.
