France Slams US for Ridiculous Criticism of Heatwaves, Blames Climate Change

Being ridiculed by Americans for not having air conditioning, Paris’ deputy mayor Odile Prouvault responded strongly, calling the American questioning “very ridiculous,” and accusing the United States of being responsible for the extreme heat that France has experienced this year.

She criticized the US government for saying, “You cities with 90% air-conditioning have an inextricable connection to this.”

The US side claims that they don't feel pressure at all.

When asked about this matter, EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin joked on Fox programming, "Well, there are always some people somewhere in the world who try to force us to turn off air conditioners with a sense of shame... The idea that 'some old lady in Georgia should feel guilty or ashamed and turn off her air conditioner' is simply absurd."

According to Fox News report on July 1st, Fox's studio is located at the 'Great American Interstate Expo', held to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States.

Zeldin pointed to the crowd and said, “As we can see, many people are trying to get into the state exhibition hall where the air conditioning is off. That’s quite smart.” The host also laughed and agreed, “Is the solution to jump off that bridge in Paris just to get some cool air?” The three people in the studio laughed together.

Zelding subsequently stated that the United States has taken better actions in reducing emissions than European countries like France, which constantly criticize the United States. He also described the French claim that high temperatures are caused by Americans turning on air conditioners as a “scientifically baseless climate hoax”.

As a staunch supporter of Trump's climate policy, he also took the opportunity to criticize the previous Democratic government for funneling huge amounts of money to so-called 'connected leftists and interest groups' under the guise of 'climate change'. He said, 'President Trump has arrived, and he is speaking common sense. There is no longer any scam about a 'world on the verge of destruction'. That scam is over.'

"Americans are smart enough not to be misled by such statements," Zerdinger added, "By the way, many Europeans have already seen the consequences of their standards after implementation—and they're destroying their economy."

According to the British 'The Daily Telegraph', over the past week, as several European countries experienced record-breaking heatwaves, a transatlantic online discussion has also been growing. Many Americans who live in the southern desert regions of the United States mock the French and Western Europeans for being unable to tolerate the high temperatures.

In response, Paris's Deputy Mayor in charge of international relations, Audrey Poulva, recently wrote an article to counter the claims, saying, "To dear American journalists and social media ‘influencers’: over the past few days, some of you have been criticizing and mocking Paris, just because not every room in this city has air conditioning... Good heavens, that's simply ridiculous!"

As the second-largest greenhouse gas emitter globally, you bear a significant responsibility for global warming and the consequences France is currently facing.

Odile also said that France is using air conditioning in the most 'precise' way. 'If every American city could make the same efforts in ecological transformation as Paris and other European cities, believe me, the whole world would be better off. So, please stop preaching to us; start doing it yourself.'

However, in this post, Audrey only described air conditioners as "technological devices that exacerbate climate problems," without mentioning even a single word about the fact that air conditioners are a necessity for people living under extreme heat waves.

In the comments section, a highly praised post pointed directly at this contradiction – “Your people are dying.”

Preliminary data released by the French Public Health Agency on the 28th showed a significant increase in deaths during this heatwave. In just three days, from June 24th to 26th, over 1,000 excess deaths were recorded.
